Animated Exeter Festival 2012

Let’s face it February half term is usually cold and drizzly so why not liven it up with a bit of Animation.  Animated Exeter takes place across town all week with loads of films and events. Here are some picks or visit http://www.animatedexeter.co.uk

Sunday 12th Feb – Go and see the animator in residence at RAMM museum. Jessica is making a cool film about a spy in the museum. FREE

Tuesday 14th 1.30 Toon Boom workshop learn how to animate at home £12 for 2 1/2 hours Library

Wednesday 15th Treasure Hunt – find the 10 clues around the city and win a free Friday at the festival FREE

Test on Cathedral tower

Thursday 16th 10am and 2pm – There are two interesting video mapping workshops for aimed at 12-14yr olds or 15- 18yr or over  costs £15 Phoenix

Thursday – Saturday after dark – Watch the spectacular animation show that will light up Exeter Cathedral FREE

Friday 17th 12.30 – Go and see the first of three programmes of the best British Animation Award films, shorts, ad, promos  and you get to vote for the best.  Phoenix £6

Friday 17th 6.30 Watch The Dark Crystal – dark puppet animation film from the 80’s at the Picturehouse and meet the makers afterwards £8

Saturday 18th 11.30 best British Animation films no.2, shorts, ad, promos Phoenix £6

Saturday 18th 4pm Isle of Spagg film and talk at ASK no 5 on the Cathedral Green

Sunday 19th 12pm best British Animation films no.3, shorts, ad, promos Picturehouse £8

Sunday 19th 5pm Chico and Rita, wonderful animated film from Cuba at the Bike Shed Theatre.
